Shared memory
The instructions, offers, sources and tone that every agent follows, on your site, by email and before every meeting.
What the shared memory is
The shared memory is what your agents know and how they speak. It is read by every agent: the Website Agent in its conversations, and the other agents in the messages they write. You edit it once, in one place.
Open Agents, then the Shared memory tab. The left column lists four panels, each with a short summary:
| Panel | What it holds | Summary shown |
|---|---|---|
| Instructions | Rules every agent follows | Number of rules |
| Offers | Key facts about what you sell | Facts filled in, out of 8 |
| Sources | Pages and documents your agents may use | Pages read · active sources |
| Tone | Form of address, style, role, opening message | The tone in one line |
The former AI content page now opens this tab on the Sources panel.
Knowledge bases
Offers, Sources and Tone belong to a knowledge base: one base per offer, with its own website, sources and tone. Most workspaces have a single base. If you have several, a menu in the header of each panel lets you pick the base you are editing. Each form reads exactly one base.
If you have no base yet, the panel invites you to create one and give it your website: reading the site writes its first content. Knowledge bases and the site crawl are described in detail in Website agent.
Instructions
The Shared instructions panel is a free text field: one instruction per line, for example "Always address visitors formally." or "Never quote a price without the setup fee."
- Text saves on its own a moment after you stop typing. Saved confirms it; Not saved means the save failed.
- The limit is 1,000 characters. The counter turns red above it, and nothing is saved until you shorten the text.
- Apply to all agents switches the instructions on or off for every agent without deleting the text.
- Reset empties the text and switches Apply to all agents back on.
Offers
Offers is what your agents say about what you sell: read on your website, corrected by you.
Your offer pages
The pages of your site about what you sell (pricing, offers, solutions). Switched on, your agents read them directly. If none is found, add them from Sources.
Key facts
Eight lines, one per topic, quoted as is to visitors:
- Offers
- Prices
- Lead times
- Area served
- Opening hours
- Contact
- Guarantees and terms
- For whom
Lines Nudge could not find on your site read Not found on the website — to fill in. Suggest from your pages proposes values from your switched-on pages; review each proposal and click Use or Dismiss.
Leave a line empty rather than guess
Your agents say nothing that a key fact or a source does not say. An empty line is safer than an approximate one.
Sources
Sources is what your agents have read, and what they are allowed to use.
Your website
The Your website card shows the site address and the result of the last reading, for example "42 pages read on 12 October". The site is reread every week, or when you click Reread the website. Reading carries on if you leave the page.
A gauge shows how much of what one conversation can carry your active sources use.
Pages and documents
The list shows every page and document, with a search field and categories: Offers and pricing, Home, Company, Tools, Legal, Other pages, Files and Notes.
- Switch a source off and your agents never read it. Searching then Switch off … switches off every match at once.
- Add your own sources with A note, A document or A link. Documents can be PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, CSV or JSON files.
- Edit or delete a source from its line.
Unanswered questions
The Unanswered questions card shows what your visitors asked in the last 30 days that your agents did not know. Click Answer to write the answer: it becomes a note, and your agents use it from then on.
Tone
Tone is how your agents introduce themselves and speak to your visitors. When the last site reading suggests a voice, a banner offers to Apply it.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Form of address | Formal or Informal. Applies to the website, emails and messages before each meeting, for languages that make the distinction. |
| Style | Presets (Warm, Professional, Direct, Reassuring, Educational, Enthusiastic, Concise, No jargon) plus your own words. Your agents read it all as one instruction, shown under the field. |
| Role | Who your agents represent, up to 600 characters. Agents never invent a slot and never confirm a meeting on their own. |
| Opening message | The first sentence of the chat when a visitor opens it, up to 400 characters. |
| Suggested questions | Up to 4 buttons a visitor can tap instead of typing, under the first message, 70 characters each. |
With no tone set, your agents keep their default tone.
Tips
- Put rules in Instructions ("never discuss competitors") and facts in Offers ("delivery in 5 working days"). Agents treat facts as quotable and instructions as constraints.
- Switch off pages that could mislead (old offers, job ads, legal pages) rather than deleting them: you can switch them back on later.
- Check Unanswered questions every week. Each answer you add closes a gap for every future visitor.
