Appearance
Dress the widget with your accent colour and the assistant's name, choose its suggested questions, when it appears and on which pages, then check it in the live preview and publish.
Open the appearance screen
Go to Agents › Website Agent and, on the Widget line of On your site, click Customise. The screen has the settings on the left and a Live preview on the right.
Nothing is saved until you publish. The title bar counts your unpublished changes (for example "3 unpublished changes"): click Publish to put them online, or Cancel to drop them. Publish before leaving the page: unpublished changes are not kept.
Once published, the change is live on your site at the next page load. You never need to paste the code again: the widget reads these settings each time a page loads.
The screen dresses the widget of one conversational form, named at the bottom of the settings ("These settings dress the widget of …"). Open the form takes you to that form. Without any conversational form, the screen offers to Create a form.
What the widget takes from your brand
The widget keeps Nudge's shapes and typography so it stays readable on any site. It takes one thing from your brand: your accent colour, used on the send button, the bubbles and the links.
Accent colour
Click Edit on the Accent colour card, then pick a colour, type a Hex code, or Pick with the eyedropper from your screen.
Nudge checks the contrast of the colour on white:
- At 4.5:1 or more, the button text stays readable.
- Below, Nudge warns that the button text would be unreadable and proposes the same colour, darkened just enough. Click Use to take it.
Without a colour chosen, the widget uses the colour of the form.
Identity
Display name is the name shown in the widget header. By default it reads "AI assistant". You can give it a first name; the header never shows your logo.
Starter questions
Up to three questions offered when the visitor clicks into the bar. Click + Add a question, or Edit to change one.
- Questions from the section being read come first, and a page that has its own questions replaces these. See Suggested questions.
- Also offer them on the page, before the widget opens shows them as buttons on the page itself.
When the bar appears
The Website Agent's widget is a bar docked at the bottom of the page. You choose when it appears, separately on desktop and on mobile:
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
| Immediate | The bar is there as soon as the page loads. |
| After scrolling (%) | The bar appears once the visitor has scrolled the given share of the page. |
| After a delay (seconds) | The bar appears after the given time on the page. |
| After reading a section (seconds) | The bar appears once the visitor has stayed on one section for the given time. |
Time only counts while the page is visible. Reading starts after a scroll and starts over when the visitor changes section.
The Placement card
The Placement card (Position and Appearance: Right away, On scroll, After 5 s) applies to widgets shown as a pop-up. With the docked bottom bar it has no effect, and the card says so.
Where it appears
By default the widget shows on The whole site. To hide it on some pages, add Excluded URL patterns:
- The widget is not shown on a page whose full address contains one of the patterns, for example
/checkout,?preview=1, orblog.for a subdomain. - The text is matched as is: no wildcards, no spaces.
- Up to 50 patterns, 200 characters each.
When the preview shows an excluded page, it tells you which pattern excludes it.
Installation code
The Installation code card holds the snippet to paste once on your site, before </body> or in its custom code section. Copy the code copies it. See Installation for step-by-step guides per site builder.
Signature
"Powered by Nudge" appears in grey at the foot of the panel. It is always shown and cannot be removed: it tells the visitor which tool is answering.
Live preview
The preview runs the real widget on a page of your site:
- Device: switch between Desktop and Mobile.
- Page of your site: pick any page Nudge has read. Before your site has been read, the preview uses a neutral page.
- Reload preview restarts the widget, for example to see the bar appear again.
- The label Draft · not online yet reminds you that you are seeing unpublished changes.
Under the preview, What the widget offers here explains which questions the widget shows on the chosen page and section, and why.
When everything is published, View on my site opens your site in a new tab.
Advanced display settings
Some settings live in the form editor rather than on this screen (open the form, Display tab, Trigger): Device targeting (all devices, desktop only or mobile only), Hide if already converted (on by default: a visitor who has booked no longer sees the widget on that browser) and Wait for cookie consent. See Security and privacy for consent, and Forms and scheduling for the form editor.
The colours of the visitor and assistant bubbles and the label on the bubble are set per conversational form in Settings › Forms, section Conversation.
