Forms

Create a booking form, write its questions, test it and put it online.

What a form is

A form is one type of meeting: its name, the questions you ask before the meeting, its colours, and where it appears on your site. A visitor answers the questions, then picks a slot in your closers' calendars.

Nudge offers two types of form:

TypeWhat the visitor seesBest for
Classic formScreens of questions, then the calendar.Short, structured qualification you want to lay out yourself.
ConversationalA chat: the assistant asks your questions one at a time, in natural language, then opens the calendar.Sites where visitors also have questions to ask before booking.

The type is chosen when you create the form and cannot be changed afterwards. To switch, create a new form of the other type.

The booking form used by the Website Agent has its own screen and is not listed here. See Website Agent.

The list of forms

Open Agents › Website Agent › Booking forms. The table shows, for each form:

  • its name and its address (/<workspace>/<form>),
  • its Type (Classic form or Conversational),
  • its Display (In the page, Pop-up on click, Side panel, Floating button, Direct link or Bottom bar),
  • its Duration (meeting length),
  • its number of Contacts,
  • its Status, with a switch to turn it on or off.

Use the search box and the All types and All statuses filters to find a form.

Create a form

Open the dialog

In the list of forms, click New form.

Name it

Give it a name your visitors can understand, for example "Free audit — 20 min". Nudge derives the page address from the name. If another form already uses it, Nudge adds a number (free-audit-2).

Choose the type

Classic form (screens, then the calendar) or Conversational (the assistant asks the questions).

Choose where to show it

For a classic form: In the page, Pop-up on click, Side panel, Floating button or Direct link. For a conversational form: Bottom bar, In the page or Direct link. You can change this later in the Display tab.

Click Create and publish

The form is created active and its page opens.

A new form starts from your workspace's settings: it copies the shared settings (scheduling, blocking, appearance…) of an existing form of the same type, takes the language set in your workspace settings, and uses the accent colour of your widget so the form and the widget match.

The form page

A form page has four tabs. Each line shows the current value; Edit, View or Open takes you to where it is changed. Changes save automatically: the title bar shows Saving…, then Saved. If something is invalid (for example an empty name), the title bar says why and autosave pauses until you fix it.

The Active switch in the title bar turns the form on or off. An inactive form's page returns a "not found" page and the form no longer books meetings.

Questions

  • Type — Classic form or Conversational.
  • Questions of this form — the questions (see below).
  • Qualification protocol — how answers are scored. See Qualification and scoring.
  • Simulate a conversation (conversational forms) — try the form with test scenarios. See Test your form.

Slots

  • Duration — meeting length and video tool.
  • Bookable — minimum notice and how many days ahead visitors can book.
  • Closers — who receives the meetings: the team (as set in Availability), or rules based on the answers.

These are workspace settings a form can override: Edit opens Settings › Forms on this form. See Form settings and Scheduling rules.

Display

Choose the display mode, copy the form's link, set its trigger and copy its code, and choose its colours. See Share and embed a form.

Advanced

  • Languages and AI booking — set in Settings › Forms.
  • Name and address — the form name, an optional description shown to visitors, and the page address. If you change the address, links and embed codes that use the old one stop working.
  • Test — opens the form in test mode.

Write the questions of a classic form

In the Questions tab, click Edit on Questions of this form. A classic form is made of screens shown one after the other. Each screen holds blocks.

  • Add Screen adds a screen. Each screen can be moved, duplicated or deleted, and laid out in one or two columns (with the option to stack the columns on tablet or mobile).
  • Add Block adds a block to a screen. Click a block to edit it under Block Settings.

Question types

Under Fields:

FieldUse it for
TextA short answer.
Email or PhoneLets the visitor give either one.
EmailAn email address. Option Professional email only blocks free providers such as Gmail or Yahoo.
PhoneA phone number with a country selector.
NumberA numeric answer (team size, budget…).
Long textA free description of the need.
Dropdown, Single choice, Multiple choiceA list of options you define.
DateA date.
URLA website address.

Each field has a Label, a Placeholder, a Help text and a Required switch.

Other blocks

  • Content: Heading, Text, Divider, Form Title, Form Description, Step Indicator, Host Avatars.
  • Interactive: Slot Picker (the calendar), Closer Picker (lets the visitor choose their closer), Closer Info (shows the assigned closer), Navigation Button (custom Next, Submit and Back labels). A form holds at most one Slot Picker and one Closer Picker.
  • Engagement: Content gate, which shows a video (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia), a PDF or a custom embed inside the form.

Conditional questions and skip logic

  • Show conditionally on a field: the field appears only when other answers match your conditions (equals, not equals, contains, is one of). Combine several conditions with All (AND) or Any (OR).
  • Skip logic on a screen: "If these conditions match, go to that screen". Branches are checked in order when the visitor clicks Next; the first one that matches wins. If none matches, the next screen follows.

Write the questions of a conversational form

In the Questions tab, click Edit on Questions of this form. You write a list of things the assistant must find out, under What the assistant asks. The assistant asks them one at a time, in this order. It takes several answers at once if the visitor gives them, never asks twice, and opens the calendar once every required question is answered.

For each question (Add a question):

  • Question — what you want to know, and its answer type (the same types as above, for example Short text, Single choice, Email or phone).
  • Guidance for the assistant — how to handle it, for example "if the visitor hesitates, suggest a range".
  • Accepted answers — for choice questions, the options the answer must fit.
  • Save as — store the answer as a form answer or on the contact card (first name, last name, email, phone, job title).
  • Required before booking — the calendar stays closed until this answer is known.

The assistant needs at least an email to book anything. Keep a contact question in every conversational form.

The chat's opening (bubble label, standing instruction, starter questions) and the assistant's objectives are set in Settings › Forms › Conversation. See Form settings.

Let Nudge draft the questions

Nudge's AI can propose questions for a form. Open Settings › Forms, choose Per form, select the form, then the AI tab and Draft the questions:

  • If you scanned your site, From the site you scanned offers the questions the scan already drafted for your business (Review the suggested questions) or lets you Start from the site description.
  • Otherwise, describe your business and who is worth a call, then click Propose questions.

You get a proposal. Nothing is added until you click Add to the form: the questions are added at the end, and you can reorder and edit them like any other question.

Test your form

  • Test (in the Advanced tab) opens the form with a fake lead. Test leads are left out of analytics and CRM sync, and no real booking is made. You can also add ?test=1 to the form's link.
  • Simulate a conversation (conversational forms, Questions tab) runs a scripted conversation from your qualification protocol, with scenarios such as "Very interested", "Just curious", "Asks the price" or "Are you a bot?". Next to the chat you see what the agent understood: the stage of the conversation, the lead profile, the qualification score and the link it would recommend. Nothing is sent.

Turn a form on or off

Use the switch in the list of forms or the Active switch on the form page. Turning a form off keeps its settings, answers and contacts; it only stops new bookings.
